Data & Permissions Use

Last Updated: August 7, 2026

In plain language: what Waami accesses, and why.

Waami accesses data from your WhatsApp Business Account through the official WhatsApp Cloud API to provide its CRM features. This includes message content and metadata (such as timestamps and delivery status), phone numbers and profile information of your customers, and message templates you use for campaigns.

Waami processes this data only on behalf of the business using Waami — to store conversation history, enable automated replies, run broadcasts and manage customer relationships. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not sell your or your customers' data to any third parties.

For full details, see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. To request deletion of your data, follow our User Data Deletion page.

Data We Access Through the WhatsApp Cloud API

  • Message content and metadata: the conversations and their timestamps, delivery and read status — used to provide the shared inbox, conversation history and analytics.
  • Phone numbers and profile information: the customers' WhatsApp phone numbers, names and profile pictures — used to identify contacts and build your customer directory.
  • Message templates: the WhatsApp message templates you submit for broadcast campaigns — used to run campaign messaging on your behalf.

Why We Access This Data

All of the above is accessed strictly on behalf of the business using Waami, to deliver the CRM features the business has requested. Waami does not use this data for advertising, does not sell it, and does not share it with any third party except as required to provide the Service (including with Meta, which processes data as part of the WhatsApp Cloud API itself).

Matching Our App Dashboard Declaration

The permissions declared in the Waami App Dashboard (Meta Developer portal) correspond exactly to what is described on this page: the WhatsApp Business Messaging permission for reading and sending messages on behalf of the connected business number. We only process data that is necessary to provide the CRM service, and nothing more.
